Mä olen tänään kuunnellut tuota jatkuvasti. Ja kyyneleet silmissä sekä pala kurkussa. En uskonut korviani, kun pari päivää sitten sain nettilinkin tuohon.

Stray Bullet on kyllä ihan hieno, mutta minuun se ei ainakaan vielä uppoa sävellyksenä ihan noin lujaa, onpahan vain kiva lisä julkaistuun tuotantoon sellaiselta Brucen biisintekijäkaudelta, jolta on todellista runsaudenpulaa loistobiiseistä. Stray Bulletista pitää kuitenkin sanoa, että onpa kaiken kaikkiaan moderni, aikaansa edellä ollut veto. Ensi kuulemalla voisi arvella sen olevan ainakin 10 vuotta uudempi kuin se on, jostain jopa 90-luvulta.

Mä meinaan kyllä kuunnella kappaleet vasta boxilta - viikkohan tässä enää pitää odottaa.. mutta, pakko munkin jo todeta liityen ylläsiteerattuihin Stray Bulletin sanoihin, että onneksi Pointblank pääty kuitenkin lopulta albumille. Toi melko tyypillinen traaginen rakkauslyriikka ei musta mitenkään päihitä Pointblankin kurkkuakuristavaa aikuisten ihmisten katumuksen ja kylmän todellisuuden kuvausta. Odotan kyllä mielenkiinnolla millanen melodia tossa out-takessa on.. että, muuttaako se tunnelman??

En ole ottamassa Point Blankia pois Riveriltä. Sekin on upea tekele. Stray Bulletissa vaan tunnelma on onnistuttu vangitsemaan uskomattomasti. Piano, sopraanosaksofoni, urut, kitara luovat hienon soundimaailman. Bruce laulaa erittäin luihin ja ytimiin menevällä tunteella.

Parin kuuntelukerran jälkeen Stray Bulletin sanoitukset ei ihan iske kuin leka päähän, mutta soundi ja tunnelma on kyllä enemmän kuin kohillaan. Biisi on tosiaan soundillisesti ihan eri maailmasta kuin muu (ainakin tähän mennessä kuultu) River-materiaali. Kiehtova, vangitseva, pysäyttävä ja hienostunut tekele, jonka kuulisin erittäin mieluusti livenä.
